Organic farm with cheese factory now successfully offers its products on a new website and has launched a range of agricultural services
Two ambitious and nice people who love and respect nature. This is how we can introduce Markéta and Kamil. They travelled around Australia and New Zealand, where they got a taste for farming. It appealed to them, so when they returned they decided to start their own farm. They wanted to farm it and, most importantly, produce their own organic dairy products.
Although they had no previous experience with farming and were mostly discouraged by family and friends, they eventually fulfilled their dream and gradually built a successful organic farm in Bučovice. Today, they manage about 40 hectares of pasture and keep about 40 dairy goats and a few cows. Their milk is used to make excellent cheese, the quality of which is hard to rival, and they sell it successfully on the internet.
The family-run Farm Člupy approached us at Four Bros with a requirement for a functional e-shop and a modern website that would promote Markéta and Kamil’s business in a dignified way. We also agreed to refresh the branding and visuals including, for example, car wraps or product labels and to create videos and photographs.
Markéta and Kamil asked us at Four Bros if we could help them move online. They wanted to create an e-shop where they could sell their products. We always met the owners in person at the farm, which we toured and understood how it worked.
Of course, we also tasted their cheeses and, to be honest, our saliva is still running down. We found common ground really quickly and it also made it much easier to come up with strategies and procedures.
Since Kamil and Markéta are pro-country and want to create a colourful and lively environment with their farming, we decided to adapt their website to this idea. The website is therefore designed sparingly to be as unobtrusive as possible. We focused on keeping it simple, concise and clear, in short, making it as user-friendly as possible.
We have divided the main menu into six categories. Markéta and Kamil wanted the site to also have a section where other farmers could learn about their services. That’s why we created a landing page called “Agricultural Services“, where interested parties can find offers such as spreading manure, turning and raking hay or mulching.
Of course, it is possible to order the selected activity from this landing page immediately. The prices for these works are given in motor hours.
Markéta and Kamil’s long-term goal is to expand the amount of farmland they farm. So we created a landing page on the website called “Farm with Us” where the farm offers to rent and care for the land from the owners, or buy it back.
This landing page quickly proved successful. Several people have already spontaneously contacted us who did not like the way their land was being treated by the current tenants and expressed their wish to have their land managed by the Family Ecofarm Člupy.
For a better idea, we have also created a map showing the areas and cadastral territories already managed by the farm.
Markéta and Kamil wanted their products to be more accessible to customers so that people would not have to go directly to Bučovice to buy them. However, they did not agree to a traditional e-shop at first because they were worried about the hassle of packing and shipping and the risk of the products spoiling in transit.
Based on a joint discussion, we finally created an e-shop where the interested party can choose from four types of collection:
The pricing was also specific. We could not set exact prices for selected products because they depend on the weight of the goods. Therefore, after agreement, we set the amounts to correspond to the expected weight of the product, e.g. BIO fresh cheese, price per piece (approx. 250 g), approx. CZK 92.50.
We were recommended to work with Four Bros by a friend. We were surprised by the very friendly, personal, innovative and honest approach. Communication was fresh, efficient and we always left the meeting satisfied. The turnaround time was not very brisk – but all the more thoughtful. The subsequent marketing advice was always imaginative and beneficial. We are happy to recommend.
